PRACTICAL WAYS TO REUSE DROPPER BOTTLES

More and more medications and beauty products are being packaged in glass, dropper bottles.  This is a great thing (for multiple reasons) for essential oils users, who know that essential oils store best in glass! But after you've finished dispensing the last drop of product from your dropper bottle, you're left with a pretty, empty glass with no use.  I've been there, too, and spent some time researching and trying out a few practical ways of reusing them. Allow me to save you some time and share a few, including the easiest way to get the remaining sticky goo (I'm sure there's a better description than that) off after you've removed your label(s).

Label Remover
  1. Add 2 tablespoons baking soda, 2 cups water, and 5 drops Lemon essential oil to small bowl and combine.
  2. Remove label and cap from bottle.
  3. Submerge bottle (it sinks so much better if you fill it - go figure) and soak in above mixture to remove all sticky residue.
  4. Dry and reuse!
A Few Easy Ways to Reuse Empty Dropper Bottles
  • Dilute your go-to oils for use with kids - mix the carrier oil and oil(s) of your choice
  • Pre-mix your favorite diffuser blend and drop into diffuser as desired
  • Pre-mix your favorite skincare mix with carrier oil for easy application
  • DIY essential oil perfume
  • Use empty bottle plus oil(s) of your choice plus reed diffuser sticks for room fragrance
  • To-go carrier oil container - add your favorite carrier oil for easy transport
  • DIY blend for baths
  • Pre-mix nighttime massage oil using essential oils and massage/carrier oil of your choice for wiggly legs (you or your kiddos)
  • Pre-mix stain treatment for easy application (Thieves cleaner, dish soap, baking soda, Lemon, etc.)
  • Sharing - when friends find out you use YL essential oils, oftentimes they ask to try them. A repurposed dropper bottle is the perfect way to share with a YL "newbie", as it allows them to easily measure out each drop at a time.
If you reuse your dropper (or essential oil!) bottles, I'd love for you to share your ideas!
